=================================================================
This diskette contains all the files needed to setup Windows
3.0 in 1024x768 mode on the ATI 8514/ULTRA.
The files are:
o ULTRA.DRV - Windows 3.0 1024x768 256 colors driver
o ULTRAGS.DRV - Windows 3.0 Gray scale 1024x768 256 colors
driver.
o OEMSETUP.INF - Windows 3.0 setup file
o README.WIN - This file.
To Install the Windows 3.0 Drivers:
To install the Grayscale Font driver, you must first install
the Grayscale fonts into the directory C:\GSFONTS or set
the environment variable GSFONTS to the directory in which
the Grayscale fonts have been installed before installing
Windows 3.0.
Install Windows 3.0 using the normal Windows installation
procedure. The 3rd screen of Windows SETUP.EXE program will
ask whether a displayed list of detected hardware matches your
actual configuration. Move the cursor to the line which
contains the detected display adapter. Press return to
get a list of possible display adapters. The last entry in
this list is "Other...". Choose this entry. The Windows
setup program will then ask you to insert an "OEM Display
Disk". Insert the ATI 8514/ULTRA Installation/Drivers disk.
(Disk #1). Complete the remainder of the Windows SETUP
program as directed. The drivers must be installed using the
Windows SETUP program since they are distributed in a compressed
form.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR WINDOWS 3.0 USERS
During the installation of Windows 3.0, you will be asked to
insert the "OEM Display Disk". Make sure the path shown on the
screen is the root directory of the drive to which you will
insert that disk.
If you install Windows 3.0 on a 386 machine, the SETUP program
may prompt you with this message:
"Setup needs the following disk"
and there is no description on what disk should be inserted. In
this situation, simply enter the drive where you are installing
from. For example, enter A:\ if you are installing from drive A.
For a printout of this information, type
A>COPY README.WIN > PRN <enter>
